Reflexology

In essence the feet represent a mirror of the body on many levels, and all parts of the body can worked on via the feet

reflexology

Reflexology is based on the idea that the feet represent a map of the body. Refined work on and around reflex points on the feet can relax, energise, harmonise and detoxify our system thereby activating the self-healing capacities of body and mind on many levels.

How it's applied

Reflexology is received either in a reclining chair or another comfortable position. A natural oil/paste is used to massage the feet. Pressure can be firm or light as appropriate to the individual and any conditions being treated.

Chinese Reflexology

Chinese reflexology is a style of reflexology used in China, Taiwan and much of S.E. Asia. In recent years it has spread worldwide. It can be combined with precision reflexology for additional effect. It can be, 30 minutes, 45 minutes or an hour. The shorter treatments are great for an energy boost or a ‘tune-up’.

Precision Reflexology

Precision reflexology adds an additional dimension and connection to a reflexology treatment with a technique known as Linking. This deepens and refines the overall process.

benefits

Reflexology can be beneficial for a wide range of common health problems including (but not limited to):

  • Stress, fatigue and related disorders
  • Headaches
  • Back, neck and joint problems
  • Insomnia
  • Digestive problems
  • Poor circulation
  • Hormonal imbalances

It is also excellent as a preventive, to support detox programmes or just to deeply relax.

natural health

In common with other natural health practices, reflexology is holistic in approach and aims to support the natural healing and self-rejuvenating capacities of body and mind.

chronic conditions

Chronic longer-term conditions generally take longer to resolve. In these cases three to six treatments fairly close together can make a significant difference. As with any natural health practice, self help in the form of appropriate exercise, diet and lifestyle adaptation will support the effectiveness of reflexology treatment.

maintainence and prevention

For a general boost of health and vitality, again three to six treatments fairly close together can be very beneficial. As a preventive, reflexology every two, four or six weeks is the recommendation. You can of course have a treatment to relax and rejuvenate anytime.

booking treatments

Chinese reflexology is 30 or 45 minutes. 1 hour treatments include precision reflexology. Sessions that include precision reflexology are the most deeply relaxing (to the point of sleep sometimes) if that is what is most important to you. Feel free to e mail  to ask me for advice.
